Advancing the rights of migrant workers
ADWN is a coalition of migrant-rights organisations empowering refugees, asylum seekers and migrant workers in South Africa's most vulnerable sectors.
Who we are
Founded in 2009, the African Diaspora Workers Network is a coalition of migrant-rights organisations dedicated to advancing the rights of migrant workers. Working with local unions, migrant-rights organisations and progressive worker pressure groups, we deliver education, awareness campaigns, capacity-building and psychosocial support programmes.
We are committed to evidence-based advocacy, developing discussion papers for policy formulation and addressing migrant labour issues including xenophobia, social cohesion, social service provision, gender-based violence, peace and security.

Lobbying & advocacy
We actively engage in lobbying, advocacy, conferences, workshops, seminars and dialogues to promote and protect the rights of migrant workers, refugees and asylum seekers — bringing worker voices directly into policy spaces.
