Know Your Rights Workshops

A rolling workshop programme teaching migrant workers South African labour law, documentation basics and what to do when rights are violated.

Most migrant workers who lose wages or a job do so without ever knowing which protections applied to them. This programme closes that gap with short, practical sessions built around real workplace scenarios rather than legal theory.

Sessions cover contracts, minimum wage, working hours, unfair dismissal, workplace safety, and the difference between an asylum permit, a work visa and an ID for employment purposes.

Each cohort nominates peer facilitators who receive further training so the knowledge stays in the community after we leave.
